IN-SEASON CLINICS

During the club season, we offer various clinics for the different age groups (i.e. Fundamentals, Hitting, Blocking, etc.) for all the SMBC players. Those clinics are FREE as they are included in the tuition fees for the club season.

Location: Most sessions will be held at Harvard Westlake High School (TAPER Gym-BIG Gym), located at 3700 Coldwater Canyon, North Hollywood, CA 91604.

OFF-SEASON CLINICS

Starting the beginning of each SEPTEMBER, SMBC offers several one-day clinics over the weekends (mostly Sundays). Those clinics are designed to help and prepare the athletes to further develop their skills and get ready for their school volleyball tryouts. the tuition fees for the club season.

In September: The clinics are open to all athletes entering the 5th through the 9th Grades.

In October & November: The clinics will be held only for players in 5th and 8th grades. Out of respect to the high school coaches and their season, we will not allow players on a JV or a Varsity team to participate.

Limit: Each clinic will be limited to 36 athletes to allow a low coach-to player ratio.

SUMMER PROGRAM

Starting the middle of JULY, we will hold tryouts for girls entering the 5th through the 9th grades. Once the teams are formed, each team will practice twice a week at Harvard Westlake, on WEDNESDAYS and SUNDAYS, (with a couple of exceptions depending on the availability of the gyms). The season ends the middle of September with approximately 16-18 Practice/Competition sessions for each team.
Each team will be composed of 10 to 12 players with TWO coaches to assure a low player to coach ratio. The Summer Program will emphasize fundamental skills through high quality repetition as well as basic strategies of volleyball and team competition.
A FLYER will be posted on the website in JUNE.

BOYS CLINICS

SUMMER DEVELOPMENTAL PROGRAM/CLINICS

Because of the success we had with the summer DEVELOPMENTSL PROGRAM and for the second year in a row, we will be holding on SUNDAY JULY 13th (Tentative) the TRYOUTS for players entering the 5th to the 9th GRADE to form DEVELOPMENTAL TEAMS. If we have the space we will take ALL PARTICIPANTS and place them on a team that is suitable for their skills. You do not need to tryout if you are currently playing for SMBC. You just need to sign up when the time comes. The formed teams will practice twice during the week at HW until the end of August (approximately 15 practice sessions). More information will be handed out at the end-of-the-year meeting (June 21st). Also, we will be holding our usual weekend SUMMER CLINICS during the months of SEPTEMBER and OCTOBER (TBA).
