Tara Henn

17-2 Assistant Coach

SMBC alumnus Tara Henn (’06) joins the club as assistant for her first year of coaching. A celebrated star at Quartz Hill High School in Palmdale who earned multiple all-league and all-area honors, she started for the 2006 SMBC 18-1 team that finished fourth overall in the SCVA region. Tara went on to further acclaim as a two-year starter under Nabil Mardini for the state-ranked Pierce College Women’s Volleyball Team. At Pierce, Tara led the team in blocks and won back-to-back Conference Championships, two trips to the State Tournament and earned All-Conference recognition both seasons. She will assist with the 17-2’s in the 2008 season. EMAIL TARA

Ashley Lugo-Brown

18-2 Assistant Coach

A tremendous volleyball talent joins SMBC as an assistant coach this season with the 18-2’s. Ashley Lugo-Brown was a budding star in 2005 when she left her home state of Florida (where she played and earned myriad accolades for Pine Ridge High School and the Orlando Volleyball Academy), but in three seasons at Pierce College under the guidance of Nabil Mardini she has become one of the best junior college players in the history of that storied program. Her accolades include back-to-back Conference Player of the Year awards, in addition to her earning All-Conference, All-State and All-American recognition each of the past two seasons. She joins Jeff Porter as an assistant coach for the 18-2’s. EMAIL ASHLEY
