Mariko “Mo” Coverdale returns for her third season in the SMBC coaching ranks. Mo has a history of success across a multitude of platforms: a star player for the renowned Washington Volleyball Academy in her home state as a youth, she continued her success at the collegiate level, leading Saint Mary’s College of California to two NCAA tournaments (once to the Sweet Sixteen) before she transferred to Cal Lutheran and earned further awards and accolades. Mo is a respected member of the Gold Medal Squared summer camp coaching circuit and has coached in our 13’s/14’s division for the entirety of her career. In 2007 Mo guided the 13-2’s to strong finishes in the SCVA region and at the Volleyball Festival. In 2008 she takes the reins of the elite-level 13-1’s.EMAIL MO

SMBC Boy’s Co-Director and 18-1 coach Beau Daniels returns to assist a power team in 2008 following his first season with the girls in 2007. Beau was high school star in his home state of Texas and a standout setter at Pierce College before transferring to Pepperdine University in 2000. Beau led the Waves to a top national ranking in 2002 en route to All-American and All-Conference honors. His coaching career has been equally illustrious: teams under his guidance and directorship have earned several medals at the boy’s Junior Olympics and had much success at home in the SCVA region. He bring his specialized skills as a setting coach to the 18-1’s again as assistant to Nabil Mardini.EMAIL BEAU

One of UC Berkeley’s all-time defensive players and former SMBC star Jillian Davis (’03) returns to coach for the club in 2008 after spending significant time with the US National Team in Colorado Springs. As an outside hitter, Jill earned All-League and All-CIF honors at Flintridge Sacred Heart, guided the SMBC 18-1’s to an Elite Eight finish at the Festival, and then went on to incredible collegiate success at Cal as the libero for the nationally ranked and perennial NCAA tournament participant Bears. She joins SMBC for her first year coaching club as an assistant to Nabil Mardini for the elite-level 18-1’sEMAIL JILLIAN
